The British Virgin Islands are a self-governing British overseas territory, situated in the Caribbean, about 60 miles east of Puerto Rico. There are more than 60 islands and keys, many of which are uninhabited. Tortola is the main island; other islands include Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada. BVIs boast great natural beauty with varied landscapes ranging from coral atolls to picturesque mountains. The beaches here are considered amongst the world’s most beautiful – and more importantly, endlessly varied so you are sure to find one that matches your fancy.

The island has a great abundance of wildlife and is home to some rare species including the endangered Anegada rock iguana.
Beaches: Some of the best beaches are Smugglers' Cove, Long Bay, Brewer's Bay and Marina Cay.
Tortola's Botanic Gardens are perfect for a relaxing stroll and enjoying flora native to the British Virgin Islands.
Visitors can snorkel amidst the magnificent Coral Gardens of Dead Chest National Park. The island is believed to have been named when the pirate Blackbeard put 15 mutinous men ashore with only a bottle of rum between them.
The park is home to the endangered red-billed tropic bird as well as laughing gulls, brown boobies, and brown pelicans.
Found in Virgin Gorda, this is a unique rock formation of dimly lit grottoes and caves, most of which can only be reached by foot or boat.
You can dine at any of the beach bars or open-air restaurants in tropical settings, or enjoy an exquisite fine dining experience in upscale restaurants. All types of menus are offered throughout the BVI. Some of the islands, such as Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Anegada, pride themselves of their fresh caught, lobster dinners, prepared several different ways to please any palate. Tortola, being the capital of the British Virgin Islands, has several restaurants, offering everything from Thai cuisine to steak houses, and everything in between.
You’ll find many beach bars on British Virgin Islands - some are directly on the beach, others a short distance away, while some are floating on the clear blue water. The upscale waterfront establishments have open-air bars live music and/or DJs on both Virgin Gorda and Tortola.
